Do you ever question if you are “really” a talented artist or creative? Do you feel that you have an inner artist or creative inside but need help coaxing it out? Do you feel discouraged about your talents if your work is rejected by others?

Affirmation can help! Positive affirmations are great messages to have around an art studio, office or creative space as reminders of your creative talents.

During this engaging and interactive workshop, we will explore our core beliefs about being creative and where it comes from, address our negative self-talk as creatives, learn the benefits of affirmations, and how to create our own affirmations. We will also engage in an interactive creative exercise to help us to continue to focus on our affirmations to support our creative muse. You don’t have to be an artist to participate! Bring your creative passion and an open mind!

Participants will:

1. Identify negative self-talk and messaging regarding their identity as a creative person.
2. Write affirmations that will help them neutralize their self-talk and messaging about their creativity identity, passion and gifts.
3. Learn how to use affirmations when they are stuck or uninspired as they move into claiming (or reclaiming) their creative identity.

Supplies will be provided, but students are also encouraged to bring your favorite old magazines or images for the creative exercise.
