Del Ray Artisans is an active organization hosting a dozen shows per year and a multitude of workshops, life drawing sessions, general member meetings, markets, and more. Check out our calendar for a list of all programs and to register for specific workshops.

Life Drawing Open Sessions

Held on most Wednesdays and select Sundays

These sessions operate on a drop-in basis so there is no need to register in advance. Bring your supplies and join us at the gallery to draw or paint our live models. The fee for each 3-hour session is $10 for DRA members and $12 for non-members. 2-hour sessions are $8 for members and $10 for non-members. View the “Life Drawing” category in the online calendar for dates and details. Contact Katherine Rand at if you have questions.

Partners in Art

Held one Monday afternoon per month

Looking for support as you strive to reach your art-related goals? Partners in Art is a group of artists that meets regularly to share goals, report on progress, obtain feedback on current artwork and discuss topics of interest to the group. Become a regular or drop-in with artwork if you are looking for feedback. Donations ($1-3) greatly appreciated. View the “Partners in Art” category in the online calendar for dates and details.

Spring Art Market

Held on a Saturday in the Spring

Outdoors next to the gallery in the adjoining Nicholas A. Colasanto Park, a variety of original artwork (painting, photography, pottery, jewelry, glasswork and more!) is for sale—rain or shine! For more information, contact or view the Spring Art Market 2017 event page.

Art Camp (Youth Program)

Grown-Ups Art Camp (GUAC)

A series of workshops packed into 2 weeks in July

GUAC is an intensive schedule of workshops (day, night, weekday, weekend, 4th of July holiday) for anyone and everyone. Register for each workshop individually to suit your schedule. For more information, contact or view the GUAC 2017 event page.

Card Making Parties

Usually held on a Sunday every 2-3 months

At DRA’s card making events you will find a mixture of artists and non-artist types eagerly gathered around tables creating greeting cards you would never find anywhere else. Each card becomes it’s own work of art as participants “treasure hunt” through papers, images and all sorts of supplies (stamps, inks, colored pencils, paints, etc.) and ephemera for embellishing. These cardmaking parties turn out to be a “creative jam session” for all who attend. One has the option to donate the cards made to DRA or a small monetary contribution for time and supplies. No experience necessary.

First Thursday

The first Thursday of the month from April through September

First Thursday is a free Del Ray community event sponsored by the Del Ray Business Association from 6-9pm along Mount Vernon Avenue. The gallery stays open until 9pm!

Quarterly Membership Meetings

Held in February, May, August, and October

DRA’s membership meetings are held quarterly to conduct official business—and also happen to be fun! Each meeting has a different program planned: in February, an Art Swap; in May, a special presentation; in August, a pie-baking contest; and in October, elections.

Fine Art & Fine Craft Holiday Market

In December

The market offers unique handmade fine arts and fine crafts from local artists (including pottery/ceramics, photography, jewelry, cloth, paper crafts, and glass). Admission is free! All artists donate a percentage of their sales to help support Del Ray Artisans.
